BIO

New York-based actress/writer/comedian, Jennifer Ostrega is a graduate of the acting school at Rutgers University. She trained in improvisational comedy under the direction of Del Close at Improv Olympic and the Piven Theatre in Chicago. After making her solo debut at Chicago's Live Bait Theatre in 1999, she moved to NYC where she took her solo creation known as Permalance (corporate speak for "permanent-freelance" job) and presented a workshop of the show at ManhattanTheatreSource in NYC.

The show ran at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, Improv Olympic West in Los Angeles, and was selected by NBC for a production of TOWER OF BABBLE at NBC's artist/comedy development program PSNBC at HERE Arts Center. Jennifer Ostrega was a featured performer in the comedy duo category at the 2003 Annual Chicago Improv Festival. Tower of Babble debuted at the New York Fringe Festival directed by Michael Schiralli and extended its run at The Peoples Improv Theater in Chelsea. The show remained Timeout NY's Comedy Pick of the Week as voted by critic, Joe Grossman.

In film, she has appeared in comedy shorts of Daily Show Writer/Director Eric Drysdale and Writer/Director, Paul Sullivan of Boy in the Drain Productions, (First Time Caller).

Jennifer has appeared off-Broadway with the 52nd Street Project and the 24 Hour Plays. Currently, she is developing her latest show, VERY MIDDLE CLASS.
